Martin Wilkinson (right) brings a modicum of mechanical competence gained through a lifetime of reparing old motorbikes and extensive experience of road trips through the USA and Europe. He found FM on the Volvo's radio in about two seconds.
Martin Tilbrook (left) is writing this blog for his Automotive Journalism MA at Coventry University. He couldn't find FM on the Volvo's radio after many hours, and realised another Martin would be useful (see above).
Sven (centre) is a 2001 Volvo S80 2.4 and was the team member responsible for most of the heavy lifting during the trip while the other two filled their faces with junk food. Sven cost £600 from a guy on a farm on top of a hill near Bradford.
